Hardwire is excited to announce the launch of the most innovative tactical shield yet: The Federal Cut. Originally designed and developed for the FBI, DEA, and U.S. Marshals, the Federal Cut Tactical Shield offers some striking new features and accessories that help the user adapt in critical situations. 

The Federal Cut Tactical Shield is available in two protection levels : Pistol-Rated (without viewport) and Rifle-Rated (with or without viewport). The Rifle-Rated shields are offered in compact (17.5x28") and large (20"x32") sizes, while the Pistol-Rated shield is offered in one size (20"x32"). The Federal Cut Tactical Shields are tested to FBI Protocol.

  1. Weight Distribution System

    This weight distribution system is equipped with a kickstand, quick release pull, and a shoulder strap to help offset the weight of the shield when carrying for long periods of time. If you need to quickly release yourself from the strap, simply pull the red release cord to disengage. The kickstand has 3 positions: stow, free-standing mode, and weight distribution. The padded kickstand sits on the hip, offering comfort for extended use.

  2. Shooting Support Braces

    The Shooting Support Braces offer dual positioning providing shooting stability when positioned outward or for easy stowing when tucked in. These braces pair well with the Triclops Periscope to align the shooter’s sights with the periscope mirror.

  3. FoxFury Shield Light

The FoxFury TAKER B30 model shield light is included with all Federal Cut Tactical Shields and comes installed. This light packs a punch with 1000 lumens of power and 2hr continuous runtime.

Triclops Periscope: 

The Triclops Periscope attaches to Federal Cut Tactical Shields to increase visibility around corners without exposure. Complete with 3-way rotation and aligning with gun sights, this accessory takes stealth and decision space to a whole new scope. Compatible only with Federal Cut Tactical Shields without a viewport.

  • Weight: 2.7lbs
  • Quick removal with hook & loop attachment.
  • Top Position: Sits about 4” above the top edge. Provides overall visibility and situational awareness.
  • Side Positions: Left and right positions are designed to line up with sights on a firearm (red dot, scope, etc.).
  • Offers advanced visibility around corners and doorways.
  • Reduces vulnerability and improves cover during operations.

Tactical Shield Carrying Case

Protect your shield on the go with the Tactical Shield Carrying Case. This soft nylon bag with padded interior and custom foam inserts is designed to protect the shield during transport or storage.

The MOLLE webbing allows operators to attach essential gear such as ID placards, tactical pouches, strobes, tourniquets, or other mission-specific equipment—right where it’s needed most. Built for law enforcement and tactical teams requiring adaptability in dynamic environments.
